The Roane County Raiders lost against the Sissonville Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Roane County received a tough blow as they fell 56-42 to Sissonville. Roane County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Roane County saw an underclassman step up: Will Odle dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Odle is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shaun Caldwell, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Max Moore was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with four steals for Sissonville. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Griffith, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Roane County has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Sissonville, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Roane County will head out on the road to face off against Independence at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sissonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Sissonville is ranked 42nd, while Hoover is ranked 37th).
