Araeyah Harigel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Dashya Montgomery was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Ajada Thompson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
W.S. Neal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Escambia County lost 19-4 to W.S. Neal last Tuesday.
Zyneria McNeal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenleigh Madison, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Escambia County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for W.S. Neal, their victory bumped their record up to 13-16.
W.S. Neal took their win against Escambia County in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 19-4 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
