The Polytechnic Panthers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 55-43 win over Gabrielino on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for Polytechnic as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Gabrielino still got an impressive performance from Alex Hoe, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Eslava, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Gabrielino, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11.
Polytechnic is on the road again on Saturday and plays Milken at 8:00 p.m. on February 10th. Gabrielino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
