The Timberline Blazers won against the Peninsula Seahawks last Friday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Timberline took down the Seahawks 70-54. The victory was familiar territory for Timberline who now have six in a row.
Timberline was led to victory by Josh Tichenor and Darrell Gipson. Tichenor scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Gipson scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gipson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cedric Ragland Jr, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Timberline is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Peninsula, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Timberline is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Rams at 7:45 p.m. on February 1st. North Thurston is on a eight-game streak of home wins, the Blazers a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Peninsula will take on the Tides at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gig Harbor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Seahawks in Washington (the Tides are ranked 53rd, while the Seahawks are ranked 272nd).
