J.L. Mann pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mauldin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (65), J.L. Mann still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Jeremy Cook, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Thomas Davidson, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Mauldin 90-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), Hillcrest still had to take the loss.
J.L. Mann's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Hillcrest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
J.L. Mann didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hillcrest when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 57-52 win. Will J.L. Mann repeat their success, or does Hillcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
