Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). They blew past the Colonel Crawford Eagles 12-4 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Elgin and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Colonel Crawford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin will face off against Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Colonel Crawford, they will take on Cardington-Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
