The La Marque Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 93-44 loss at the hands of Brazosport. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for La Marque in their matchups with Brazosport: they've now lost four in a row.
Brazosport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deja El Amin, who dropped a triple-double on 35 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points El Amin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmasia Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
La Marque's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-16. As for Brazosport, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Stafford the next time they take the court. La Marque will head out to face Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Brazosport will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
