The Captain Shreve Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Southwood Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Captain Shreve will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Even though Red River scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Captain Shreve still came out on top. Captain Shreve took their match against Red River 70-61.
Captain Shreve got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jyrin Sowell out in front who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sowell has scored all season. Ejoshua Mcdonald was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southwood waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 41-32 win over Airline.
Captain Shreve is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for Southwood, their victory bumped their record up to 23-8.
Captain Shreve took their win against Southwood in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 51-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Captain Shreve since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
