The Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves came tearing into Saturday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 39-31 victory over Trinity. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cuyahoga Heights also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the loss, Trinity saw an underclassman step up: Jaila Wiggins almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Iniya Charlton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Cuyahoga Heights' victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Trinity, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Cuyahoga Heights will head out on the road to square off against Chagrin Falls at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Chagrin Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Wednesday. As for Trinity, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
