Kokomo is 9-1 against Lafayette Jefferson since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildkats will look to defend their home field against the Bronchos at 6:00 p.m. Kokomo has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kokomo lost 18-5 to Pendleton Heights on Tuesday. The Wildkats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spencer Martin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Lanaya Buckner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Lafayette Jefferson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Warren Central on Wednesday. The Bronchos blew past the Warriors 15-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bronchos' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Sayler Teal made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Teal was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lafayette Jefferson got a big performance out of Maya Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Thomas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evy Pitt, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Kokomo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Kokomo's way against Lafayette Jefferson when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Kokomo made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Wildkats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bronchos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
