The Howard Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Cottage Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Howard scored the most points they've had all season to find success on January 11th. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tapestry Charter 42-8 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-2.
Howard found their leader in underclassman Zoe McLaughlin, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McLaughlin has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cottage put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 46-20 margin over Atlanta Area School for the Deaf. Winning may never get old, but Cottage sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Cottage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Finley Love, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gabby Pressnall, who scored 13 points.
Howard now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cottage, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Howard came up short against Cottage in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 46-40. Can Howard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
