Soddy Daisy is a perfect 10-0 against Hixson since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Soddy Daisy will be playing in front of their home fans against Hixson at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Soddy Daisy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let East Ridge get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Lilyana Blaylock made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Blaylock was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Skylar Gooden was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Kaylee Robertson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Soddy Daisy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. The last time their OBP was this high was in their last seven games.
Meanwhile, Hixson entered their tilt with East Hamilton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Hurricanes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 23, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Robinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brantley Bruggink, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Soddy Daisy pushed their record up to 10-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hixson, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
