The Westville Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Kiefer Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Westville has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Kiefer will arrive with ten straight victories.
Last Friday, Westville took a serious blow against Morris, falling 50-22.
Meanwhile, Kiefer can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-6 victory over Beggs at home. Given Kiefer's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Beggs is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kiefer relied on the efforts of Jentry Pendergraft, who gained 100 total yards and four touchdowns, and Jaxon Worley, who threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Kiefer also got a significant boost from Bradley Breland, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Westville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.7 points per game. As for Kiefer, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Westville was taken down by Kiefer 44-16 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Westville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
