Josh Rosen threw for six touchdowns as
St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) defeated
Santa Fe (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.) 61-8 on Saturday.
The Braves were up 45-0 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.
St. John Bosco expanded its lead to 61 points entering the fourth quarter. SJB scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Rosen to Nick Lehman.
Rosen and A.J. Holman teamed up to form a dynamic passing combination. Holman has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Rosen has thrown six.
The Chiefs' Christian Lara was the standout player for his team. The sophomore quarterback ran for one touchdown.
Santa Fe's lone touchdown came on a 65-yard run by Lara in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 51-0 win for the Bellflower school.
With the win the Braves extended their winning streak to three games.
In a non-conference game next week Santa Fe (1-2) takes on Santiago, and St. John Bosco (3-0) will go up against Loyola also in a non-conference game.
