The Franklin Central Flashes posted their biggest victory since November 9, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Southport 62-26 on the road. Given Franklin Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Southport is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Graves out in front who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carys Wilson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Southport lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lorelei bennett. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with two steals.
Franklin Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Southport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Franklin Central will be playing at home against Fishers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fishers will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Southport, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenfield-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Greenfield-Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
