Gurdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tad Cogburn and Jonah Jester.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-15, which was the final score in Lafayette County's tilt against Dierks on Friday.
Gurdon will have to contain Jordan Walters as he made an impact in Lafayette County's last game. He rushed for 190 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Walters posted at least 109 rushing yards in the seventh games prior.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Gurdon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lafayette County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 267.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Gurdon came out on top in a nail-biter against Lafayette County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 39-36. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' Rodrevious Bailey, who rushed for 229 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Go-Devils to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
