After a string of nine wins, The Eastmont Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richland. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (35), Eastmont still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Eastmont still got an impressive performance from Gunnar Peterson, who rushed for 322 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Moore, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Joshua Woodard was his usual excellent self, throwing for 299 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Brody Bocek was another key contributor, picking up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Eastmont's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Richland, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Eastmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Richland will head out on the road to face off against Graham-Kapowsin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Graham-Kapowsin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 292 points over their last seven matches.
