Brooke Williams was another key player,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. James  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with five  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 St. James' victory  ended  a  15-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 4-17. As for Newburg, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the  loss, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when  Tigers challenges Crocker at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Newburg, they will head out to  face off against Vienna  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
