Catalina is 1-7 against the Bulldogs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Catalina Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Safford Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Catalina is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 18-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Monday, Catalina had to suffer through a rough 100-46 loss at the hands of the Titans. While losing is never fun, Catalina can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Titans are ranked 111th).
Meanwhile, Safford pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-61 to Sabino. Safford has not had much luck with the Sabercats recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Catalina's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Safford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.
Catalina took a serious blow against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in January, falling 90-27. Can Catalina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
