The Phillips Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Lynn Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Phillips suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 79-39 loss at the hands of Hackleburg.
Meanwhile, Lynn waltzed into their game last Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They secured a 66-60 W over Hackleburg. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lynn relied on the efforts of Braylen Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Cale Tittle, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Tittle continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Kelly, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Phillips has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Lynn, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Phillips and Lynn were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Phillips came up empty-handed after a 65-64 loss. Can Phillips avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
