The Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Bethany at home to the tune of 87-53. Winston-Salem Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.
Winston-Salem Prep was led to victory by Tobias McCaskill and Hahsasah Simmons. McCaskill scored 29 points, while Simmons scored 33 points along with six steals and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Simmons scored 15 or more points. Jace Covington was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
The win (which was Winston-Salem Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Bethany, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winston-Salem Prep will play host again and welcome the Bobcats, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont Classical knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Phoenix likes a good challenge. As for Bethany, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Leadership Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games.
