The W.S. Neal Eagles will challenge the Blacksher Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. W.S. Neal is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
W.S. Neal is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Northview just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Chiefs, falling 12-5.
Colton Cain was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Cain was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Cain wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Stone, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Stone is becoming a predictor of W.S. Neal's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Blacksher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Washington County on Friday as they made off with an 8-2 victory. Blacksher might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like W.S. Neal, Blacksher also got a great game from a two-way player: Brayden Bailey. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bailey was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamison Coleman, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Hunter White was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
W.S. Neal's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Blacksher, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-10.
W.S. Neal came out on top in a nail-biter against Blacksher in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
