West Aurora is 5-0 against Plainfield South since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The West Aurora Blackhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Plainfield South Cougars at 6:30 p.m.
West Aurora lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 82-44 loss at the hands of Waubonsie Valley. West Aurora was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-27.
Even though Plainfield South has not done well against Minooka recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Plainfield South came out on top against Minooka by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jazlynn Foster, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destynia Mcgruder, who scored 13 points.
This is the second loss in a row for West Aurora and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for Plainfield South, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
West Aurora skirted past Plainfield South 61-58 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will West Aurora repeat their success, or does Plainfield South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
