The Knightdale Knights were the 55-52 winner over the Wakefield Wolverines when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Knightdale lost to the Wolverines on the road by a decisive 70-53 margin on Tuesday.
Knightdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Khaim Taylor, who scored ten points along with two steals. Ibukun Adewumi was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Wakefield was led to victory by Taj Boone-Chambers and Syncere Burnette. Boone-Chambers scored 24 points, while Burnette shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tristian Pretlow, who scored seven points.
Knightdale's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Knightdale will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Wake Forest has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Rolesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Wolverines are ranked 42nd).
