The Ray Texans are taking a road trip to take on the Alice Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Ray easily dispatched Sinton on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Texans fell just short of Lockhart by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Texans have suffered since April 12, 2025.
Kaliey Benavides was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexianna Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Alice got the win against Karnes City on Saturday by a conclusive 14-3.
Daniella Kohler was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kohler was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keira Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Padron, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Alice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Alice's record is now 4-9. As for Ray, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Ray might still be hurting after the 20-10 loss they got from Alice in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Texans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
