For Lake Cormorant, this counts as revenge for the 69-49 defeat Grenada walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2019.
Grenada lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jarques Perry, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Perry's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelton Jones, who scored 16 points.
Lake Cormorant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Grenada, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-10.

The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Byers is ranked 77th, while Lake Cormorant is ranked 58th). Grenada won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southaven at 10:00 a.m. on January 6th. Southaven is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
