 In other batting news,  J.D. James was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  RBI (two). Another player making a difference was  Wyatt Hossenlopp, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Cardinal Mooney  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .606. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Meanwhile,  it may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Out-of-Door Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Tuesday. They skirted past Imagine School at North Port  3-2. The  win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.
 Out-of-Door Academy's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-8. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal Mooney, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
 Cardinal Mooney came out on top in a nail-biter against Out-of-Door Academy when the teams last played  back in March, sneaking past  6-5.
