The Sacred Heart Academy Sharks suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a tough 66-44 loss at the hands of St. Mary. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sacred Heart Academy in their matchups with St. Mary's: they've now lost four in a row.
Sacred Heart Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooke Personius, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Personius is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Zablocki, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Sacred Heart Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Academy will challenge Nardin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary's, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamsville South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsville South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 404th, while St. Mary's is ranked 23rd).
