They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 50-47. North Salinas just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, North Salinas saw an underclassman step up: Angel Lizaola scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lizaola has scored all season. David Jauregui was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
North Salinas has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Greenfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-13 record this season.
North Salinas will head out on the road to square off against Pajaro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pajaro Valley has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Greenfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rancho San Juan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
