Mesa Verde is on a five-game streak of home losses, the Capitals a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The two teams will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
On Saturday, Mesa Verde took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 70-41. Mesa Verde was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mathew Garcia, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Will Dickinson, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Sacramento Adventist scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sacramento Country Day as Sacramento Adventist made off with a 71-48 win. The score was close at the half, but Sacramento Adventist pulled away in the second half with 40 points.
Mesa Verde's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Sacramento Adventist, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.
Mesa Verde took a serious blow against the Capitals in their previous matchup back in June of 2021, falling 88-47. Thankfully for Mesa Verde, Breckin Beaman (who shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a triple-double on 33 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time.
