Model is 5-0 against Unity Christian since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Model Blue Devils will get right back to it and host the Unity Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Model didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rockmart, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Model.
Meanwhile, Unity Christian put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Praise Academy 63-19 on the road. The win was just what Unity Christian needed coming off of a 70-34 loss in their prior contest.
Unity Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriela Creel, who scored ten points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Creel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Creel, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Model's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Unity Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Everything went Model's way against Unity Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 as Model made off with a 51-28 win. Does Model have another victory up their sleeve, or will Unity Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
