Andress has gone 7-2 against Burges recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Andress' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
Andress is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Horizon: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Scorpions out of the water with a 58-6 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Scorpions are ranked 1033rd).

Andress got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikeil Taylor out in front who picked up 152 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving touchdowns Taylor has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Cordova, who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.
Andress was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 261 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Burges' game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Horizon 31-28.
Andress better keep an eye on Nezahul Cisneros. He was instrumental in Burges' win, rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Cisneros showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards. Burges also got help from Nathan Duran, who showed off his sure hands for 108 receiving yards.
Andress pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points over those games. As for Burges, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carmelo (Melo) Jones and Cisneros. Jones just won't slow down this season and has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 106 rushing yards per game. Cisneros has been a dominant force too and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 153.1 rushing yards per game.
Andress was able to grind out a solid victory over Burges in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 34-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
