<p> The Springport Spartans are still winless after their game against the Quincy Orioles on Friday, but there were plenty of signs of progress. Springport fell just short of Quincy by a score of 26-22. While the final result was the same, that margin represents a big improvement from the 42-6 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last September.</p><p> RB Noah Pearson was the offensive standout for Quincy as he rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown. Those 132 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Pearson.</p><p> Springport's loss dropped them to 0-4 this season, while Quincy's win got them back to even at 2-2. </p><p> Springport will look to defend their home field on Friday against Reading at 7:00 p.m. ET. Springport will be looking to stop a 5-game streak of losses at home. Meanwhile, Quincy will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Central at 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday.</p>
