It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the South Sumter Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 44-7 victory over Titusville. The win was familiar territory for South Sumter who now have eight in a row.
Tyrese Keiler was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Ja?kyrian Turner was another key contributor, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
South Sumter has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 10-2 Vanguard and 8-3 Nature Coast Tech (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.2% over those games). As for Titusville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
South Sumter will head out on the road to face off against Cocoa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Titusville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
