The Lewis County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a rough 92-69 defeat at the hands of Summertown. Lewis County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-28.
Grayson Burleson was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 48 points and nine rebounds for Summertown. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burleson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bennett, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals.
Lewis County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Summertown, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis County will take on Cornersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lewis County is coming into the match with seven straight losses at home, meaning Cornersville will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Summertown will take on Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Summertown surely won't give up without a fight.
