On Friday, things could have been worse for Rhea County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-30 loss to Tyner Academy.
Despite the loss, Rhea County still got an impressive performance from Hunter Crowe, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Ethan Davis, who rushed for 116 yards.
Rhea County's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Tyner Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rhea County will challenge East Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Hamilton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Tyner Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Meigs County at 7:30 p.m. on October 26th. Meigs County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
