Avocado - West recap October 1, 2013
El Camino scaled the state rankings by moving to 138 from 169 this week, the biggest jump in Avocado - West. The Wildcats were able to move up by topping Rancho Buena Vista 31-14.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Carlsbad beat Fallbrook 45-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Carlsbad's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Chapman threw for 215 and 3 touchdowns and Hayden Mortimer had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Damaris Pulido Christovale chipped in 106 yards. Jordan Perez helped Carlsbad's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 70 yards.
He was 11-19 with 0 interception.
Mortimer was the best wideout in the league this week as Thadd MacNeal's team bested the Warriors. Mortimer racked up 2 receptions for 72 yards. Perez helped Carlsbad's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 70 yards.
Carlsbad's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chapman has thrown for 874 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Perez has 16 catches for 300 yards.
The Lancers took down Fallbrook 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chapman in the win.
