Roosevelt is 0-10 against Allen Park since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Bears will welcome the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Roosevelt comes in on three and Allen Park on four.
Roosevelt proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 18) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Yale 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since May 7, 2024.
Ellie Isenegger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Isenegger was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devlyn Massengill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Allen Park got the win against Carlson on Thursday by a conclusive 13-6. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Roosevelt, Allen Park also got a great game from a two-way player: Melody Filipiak. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Filipiak has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Allen Park got a massive performance out of Kiley Carr, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Carr has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mallory Hool, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Allen Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Roosevelt pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Allen Park, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Roosevelt hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. However, it's not like Allen Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Roosevelt couldn't quite get it done against Allen Park in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 5-0. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
