The Northgate Broncos entered their tilt with the Campolindo Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Northgate managed a 68-64 win over the Cougars on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Northgate's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Cougars are ranked 69th).
Northgate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Harris led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jake Andjus, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Campolindo's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Rendle and Dylan Mansour. Rendle went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists, while Mansour dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Rendle hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Ren Marchetti was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Northgate is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Campolindo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-6.
Northgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Campolindo also has no future games currently scheduled.
