The Bucyrus Redmen will be playing at home against the Vanlue Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bucyrus will be strutting in after a win while Vanlue will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Bucyrus blew past Crestline, posting a 54-21 victory at home. The victory was just what Bucyrus needed coming off of a 54-23 defeat in their prior game.
Among those leading the charge was Brook Dennison, who scored 20 points along with 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bucyrus' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Kemery, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vanlue came up short against Ridgedale on Tuesday and fell 47-36. Vanlue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mara Simon put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 blocks. Another player making a difference was Olivia Secord, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
The losses dropped Bucyrus to 1-1 and Crestline to 0-2.
Bucyrus didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Vanlue in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Will Bucyrus repeat their success, or does Vanlue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
