Given King's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Panthers are ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Hughey, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Bryce Sherman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
King's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Eastside College Prep, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Academy will take on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Menlo School is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Eastside College Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m.
