There's no place like home for the Greeley Central Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Centaurus on Tuesday as Greeley Central made off with a 62-42 win. For Greeley Central, this counts as revenge for the 56-40 loss the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Greeley Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid Arlo richardson, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Martin Mendoza, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Centaurus still got an impressive performance from Zak White, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Antuan Vargas was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Greeley Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Centaurus, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Greeley Central will head out on the road to square off against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mead presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Colorado (the Mavericks are ranked 33rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 164th). As for Centaurus, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Longmont is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season.
