After flying high against the Wisner-Pilger Gators last Saturday, the West Point-Beemer Cadets came back down to earth. West Point-Beemer took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pierce. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Point-Beemer in their matchups with Pierce: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Cadets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Penrose, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Haber, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
West Point-Beemer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
West Point-Beemer will square off against Twin River at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pierce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crofton on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Crofton is ranked 159th, while Pierce is ranked 173rd).
