The Clairton Bears will be home for the holidays to greet Neighborhood Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clairton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Neighborhood Academy is ranked 80th).
Even though Springdale scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Clairton still came out on top. Clairton walked away with a 69-56 win over Springdale.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clairton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taris Wooding, who scored 21 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wooding has scored at least 25% of Clairton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of DaShawn Hines, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Neighborhood Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Neighborhood Academy has scored all season.
The win got Clairton back to even at 3-3. As for Neighborhood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
