The Harrison Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodland Park. Harrison lost against Woodland Park in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-16 score last time.
Harrison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Heaven Wilburn, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Wilburn posted two or more blocks. Ali'ah Barker was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodland Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Larsen, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Wiley, who scored eight points.
Harrison dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Woodland Park, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Harrison will head out on the road to face off against Mesa Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Mesa Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Friday. As for Woodland Park, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against The Vanguard School at 6:00 p.m.
