5A Region I District 6 recap October 29, 2013
Trinity added to the longest winning streak in 5A Region I District 6 this week by beating Grapevine, 56-9. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Mustangs moved up to 612 from 643 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Grapevine was able to move up by falling to Trinity 56-9.
Heritage's dynamic duo of Griffin Pickler and Brett Bofinger proved to be unstoppable against Nimitz, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pickler threw for 382 yards and 7 touchdowns and Bofinger had 111 yards receiving. Trey Smith helped Heritage's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 86 yards.
He went 18-24 with 1 interception.
Bell's Colson Romano and Jonathan Arosemena led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Romano has thrown for 1,697 yards this season, while Arosemena has 42 catches for 530 yards. Antonio Franklin from Irving leads the league in rushing with 862 yards.
At the moment, the Tigers are in fourth, while Steve Lineweaver's team is in first.
The Vikings fell to the Panthers 55-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
