The Napoleon Wildcats won the last time they faced the Southview Cougars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Napoleon enjoyed a cozy 43-24 win over the Cougars. Given Napoleon's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Cougars are ranked 666th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Napoleon to victory were Ava Good and Chloe Cicero. Good scored 11 points, while Cicero scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Good has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Kruse, who scored two points along with three steals.
Mikayla Dorn and Morgan Rigg certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dorn scored 13 points along with six rebounds, while Rigg scored seven points along with six rebounds. Dorn continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Napoleon's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Southview, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Napoleon will take on the Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Findlay is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Southview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
