The Homestead Broncos extended their postseason success on Friday against the Jones Fightin' Tigers. They came out on top against the Fightin' Tigers by a score of 42-35. The win was familiar territory for Homestead who now have 11 in a row.
It was another big night for Joshua Townsend, who threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Homestead pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points per game. As for Jones, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Homestead will take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Thomas Aquinas will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak. Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
