SCISA AA Region II recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in SCISA AA Region II this week, Hilton Head Christian Academy beat Thomas Sumter Academy 43-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Eagles.
Northwood Academy took down Spartanburg Christian Academy 42-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Will Lloyd threw for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 30 yards during the win.
J.T. Waters was a force in the backfield as Palmetto Christian Academy beat Calhoun Academy.
Waters provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Palmetto Christian Academy defeated the Cavaliers. He completed 9 passes for 102 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 299 yards. Waters' favorite target this week was Ben German, who caught 4 passes for 50 yards.
Thomas Gunn was a key player and the best on defense this week as Jim Daniel's team beat Calhoun Academy. He recorded 1 fumble.
Lloyd put up the best numbers through the air as the Chargers bested Spartanburg Christian Academy. Lloyd's favorite target this week was Andrew Singer, who caught 3 passes for 62 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Northwood Academy's Lloyd and Douglas Dwight have proven to be a lethal combination. Lloyd has thrown for 1,777 yards this season, while Dwight has 35 catches for 801 yards. Waters from Palmetto Christian Academy leads the league in rushing with 2,278 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Palmetto Christian Academy takes on Hilton Head Christian Academy. As it stands, Palmetto Christian Academy is in third, while Ryan Mitch's team is in first.
Philip Keefe's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,506 from 6,670. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-16 victory over Chad Turner's team last week.
