Lancaster-Lebanon 3 recap October 8, 2013
Annville-Cleona moved up to 454 from 499 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lancaster-Lebanon 3. The Dutchmen climbed the ranks as a result of beating Garden Spot 27-20.
Eastern Lebanon County fell to Donegal 60-27 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Annville-Cleona's dynamic duo of Mitch Rodkey and Troy Alexander proved tough for the Spartans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rodkey threw for 173 yards and 1 touchdown and Alexander had 82 yards receiving. John Groh helped Annville-Cleona's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Garden Spot's Mitch Martin and Daryl Hartman have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Martin has thrown for 1,031 yards this season, while Hartman has 9 catches for 297 yards. The Indians' Jarrod Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 581.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Donegal takes on Pequea Valley. Jeff Polites' team is in second place, while the Braves are in third place.
Terry Lehman's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,562 from 11,445. The improvement was largely due to a 27-20 victory over Matt Zamperini's team last week.
